CLIMATE CHANGE.
Climate change has increased the level of uncertainty about our future. As its impacts intensify over time, one thing has become certain: We are clearly the last generation that can change the course of climate change, and we are also the first generation with its consequences.
Climate change impacts everyone. Young people are not only victims of climate change. They are also valuable contributors to climate action. They are agents of change, entrepreneurs and innovators. Whether through education, science or technology, young people have to potential to scale up their efforts and use their skills to accelerate climate action.
Yi's Climate Change Response
Yi's Climate Change initiative aims to bring together the nation's youth and engage them for positive climate action. We aim to create awareness, education, and initiate projects towards climate action, including climate adaptation and climate mitigation.
Some of our areas of engagement include:
- Empowering children to understand and tackle climate change
- Encourage young people to come to the forefront of climate change conversations
- Enable young people to develop skills to adapt to climate change effectively Support rural population for skill development and sustainable climate change solutions
- Initiate projects for climate adaptation and mitigation, including focus on disaster management and relief
Yi's Climate Change also engages at the local, state, national and international levels with governments and organizations towards climate change advocacy.
Over the years Yi has responded towards and supported disaster relief work, initiated afforestation and water conservation projects across the country. Yi has also participated at the UN Climate Change Conference 26 (UNFCCC COP 26) in Glasgow.
